Austin's 3rd Birthday Party

For his 3rd birthday Austin wanted a Thomas Party again.  Since he had the same theme last year I thought I would try and do it a little different and tried to find the older Thomas for his decorations.  I also used his very large collection of Thomas toys to help with the decor.

He is so proud to be three!

Big sister giving some birthday love :)

Daddy's little buddy

Mommy's little man

Since he had the Thomas cake from Publix last year I decided to something different and thought this was a cute idea.

After we ate his favorite, Pizza Hut, it was time for the cake!

The kids are so blessed to have the best Grandparents!

The cake, as always, was delicious and a big hit!

He has been waiting to tear into his gifts all week!  He was very into it this year and it was so much fun to watch him.

It always helps you unwrap your gifts if you stick out your tongue :)

Austin has just started to get into Batman so Grandpa picked out a special gift for him...his very own Batman belt!

This ended up being his favorite gift!

When we finished with gifts it was time to go play at Chuck E Cheese's

We had such a great time celebrating our little boy, I think everyone will sleep well tonight!

Happy 3rd Birthday Austin

3 years ago today, at 12:46am, a little man entered the world and completed our family!  My how the time has flown by!  It seems like only yesterday we were introducing Kelly to her little baby brother.

There is so much that I want to remember about the last year that I decided to write some of it down.

Favorites:
Food- pancakes, oatmeal, popcorn, chips and pizza
Restaurant- Pizza Hut
Color- green (Kelly has said since he was born that this was his favorite color and now it is)
Show- Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Thomas and Friends
Animal- cat

Weight- 29 1/2 lbs.

Height- 3 feet

Nicknames- Mommy and Grandma: Bubba or Bubba Boy
Daddy: Squirt     Grandpa: Chicken little

When he grows up he wants to be a Daddy and a Grandpa and drive Thomas

*Is still Thomas the Train’s number one fan

*Spends most of the day playing with cars and trains and putting puzzles together

*Is a big Mommy’s boy

*Loves to cuddle and give tons of hugs and kisses

*Still a very picky eater, but does well with the food that he does like

*Loves to make people laugh, he will be the class clown one day

*Has become more independent this year and you can tell his confidence has grown.  He is not that shy little boy anymore that hides when someone says hi to him.

*Is fully potty trained

*Has to have his blue cover and baby kitty to go to sleep

*Loves to be read to. Will bring me a big stack of books and just sit and listen as I read them all

*Recognizing letters, numbers and shapes and point them out when he sees them

*Loves music, but will not sing.  I still can’t get him to sing his ABC’s, he says he doesn't sing only Kelly and Mommy sings.  He will sing “FIRE” really loud when Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys comes on. Loves anything with a good beat so he can dance.  He loves to “rock out” in the car and we have several videos of him doing this, too cute.

*This year he really got into all of the holidays and understood what was going on.  He even got over his fear of Santa this year and loved going to go see him.  I think he ended up talking with him at least three times.

*Helps pick out his clothes and gets himself dressed and undressed.

*Has an amazing imagination.  He already changes his voice for the different characters he is playing with and loves to role play with Kelly. He also loves to dress up: Handy Manny, a race car driver, Batman…

*Loves his sleep. During the week he goes to nap at 10:00 and I usually end up waking him up at 1:30 so we can go get Kelly.

*Loves bath time and always wants to go first

*Is such a loving and caring little man.  He always makes sure Kelly is taken care of and if Grandma says she has something for him the first thing he says is “do you have something for Kelly?”

Things I love to hear him say:
“My have a question for you”
“My want to play little bit”
“Naked boy! Naked Boy!” (He sings this as he is running around after his bath)
“Yep!”
Calling his paci a “boobie”
“Tell her what I saying”
“I wanna give you kiss”
Calls church “Baby Jesus’ castle”
“Six Flags over Georgia” (you can’t just say Six Flags)
“Bye crocodile”

Favorite memories:
Kyleigh’s favorite memory- The day we were watching TV and he was sitting in my lap and laughing.  I didn't feel good that day and he wanted to play with me.

Grandpa and Grandma’s favorite memories-
The way he says Grandpa “Am-paw”.

How he always wants to ride “icky mouse” (Mickey Mouse) at the mall.

The day he saw the bird caught inside the mall.  His facial expressions were priceless.  He was in total amazement that there was a bird inside.

Chasing Mommy into the mall yelling “Wait Mommy, I coming!”

When we watched them for the first time, he woke up at a quarter till 6 on Sunday morning yelling for Grandma, but only Grandpa was up.  Grandpa came and got him and he went straight to the fridge and started eating pizza that he had not eaten the night before.  He would not go to Grandpa or go potty, just stare at him…until Grandma got up.

Daddy’s favorite memory- Taking Austin’s paci out of his mouth, then Austin would come over and give me a kiss and say “now you give me my paci back?”

Mommy’s favorite memory- I love it when he comes up to me and puts his hands on both sides of my face, he is either going to give me a big kiss or tell me something he thinks is very important and wants to make sure he has 100% of my attention.  I have loved spending one on one time while Kelly is at school.  He becomes much more talkative when she is gone and has learned to play very well alone and he has become a great little helper with everything from starting the dishwasher to helping me put the laundry in and “helping” me vacuum.

Even though his party is on Saturday he had to have Birthday cake tonight!

Happy 3rd Birthday Bubba Boy! We love you!
