A visit from the Paci Fairy

With Austin's 3rd birthday quickly approaching it was time for a visit from the Paci Fairy!  She visited Kelly before she turned 3 also.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Paci Fairy, she comes and takes the big kid's paci while they are sleeping to give to a baby who needs it and leaves a prize.
I knew this was going to be hard for Austin.  We would only let him have it at bed time or if he didn't feel well, but he loved his paci.  We have been talking about Paci Fairy for about a month now to get him ready and Friday morning I let him know that she was on her way that night.  We got out the crayons so he could decorate the bag he was going to leave his paci in to try and get him excited about it.

Last picture with a paci!

We wrote her a note and left it on the table where she would be able to find it.

In the morning we heard a loud gasp come from the dinning room and then "Daddy! Look!"  Austin came running into our room and got Jacob out of bed to go see his new firetruck.  He was so excited!

This was the last part of him being a baby.  I can't believe how fast it has gone by!  Only a few more weeks and he will be a big 3 year old.  He has mentioned his paci a couple times today and that he missed it, but I am so proud of my big boy!

Hoppy Easter

On Saturday Grandma, Grandpa and Kyleigh came over to visit and gave the kids their Easter baskets from them.

The kids were so excited and this made them even more excited for the Easter Bunny to come that night.  As usual, Grandma and Grandpa loaded them up with all kinds of goodies :)

Kelly and Kyleigh always have such a great time together.

Before bed we set out their baskets. The kids got a snack together for the Easter Bunny and wrote him a note to thank him for their goodies. I love that they are the ones who want to write the letter to thank him.

You could tell we have been watching Hop. Kelly came running into our room this morning saying, "Get up! Get up! You have to see what the Easter Bunny pooped out!"

He brought all kinds of goodies for the kids.

They got their baskets and brought them into our room to check it all out.  They got lots of candy, colored bubbles, crayons and 2 outfits a piece. Austin got a Thomas movie and Sir Topham Hatt riding in Winston and Kelly got the Sofia the first DVD and CD.

For breakfast I made them bunny butts, they were a big hit!

I got them both dressed up even though we were just staying at home.

My handsome little man and my beautiful little princess!

They both looked so cute I had to take some pictures with them.

It was too wet outside so we did an indoor egg hunt. Jacob and I had fun finding all kinds of hiding places.

I loved watching the kids hunt for the eggs.  Kelly was so serious about it and Austin really got into it this year.  They both were running around getting as many eggs as they could.

We sat down to count them to make sure we had found all of them. Kelly had to organize her eggs first though.

Before dinner we did our last activity, dying eggs.  Kelly loved that her name was on one of them.

Jacob, once again, made an amazing dinner.  This year he even made the potato salad from scratch.

It was a great family day! Happy Easter!

Austin's first fishing pole

Austin has been asking Jacob for a fishing pole for a little while now and Friday we finally took a trip to Bass Pro Shop to pick one out.  He was so excited and could not wait to go fishing with Daddy and Grandpa.

When we got home he helped Daddy get everything ready.

Daddy took some of his hooks, lures, weights and worms and filled Austin's tackle box.

I just love these two!

I think this is a moment that Jacob has been waiting for ever since we found out we were having a boy!

He had to have a Thomas tackle box, so we made one :)

Saturday morning he was ready to go, fishing hat and all!  As soon as Grandpa got here the three of them headed down to our lake to try out his new pole.

And here is Austin's first fish with his new pole!
